Carlo Ancelotti is a
‘serious candidate’ to replace Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager at the
end of the season, according to the Evening Standard.
Carlo Ancelotti
Wenger signed a new two-year contract in 2017, but Arsenal are concerned
the long-serving Frenchman may decide to leave at the end of this
season.
If he does, then Ancelotti, who was sacked by Bayern Munich in
September, is a leading option to take charge, although the Italian is
also a possibility for his former club Chelsea should Antonio Conte quit
his Stamford Bridge post.
Fans have yet again been calling for Wenger to end his 21-year reign at
the North London club after their embarrassing 4-2 loss against
Nottingham Forrest in the FA Cup on Sunday.
And the bigwigs at the Emirates are said to be seriously considering
managers who could take over from Wenger as he could quit at the end of
the season.
